I’m backing two top players to go the distance at Wimbledon 2025. On the men’s side, Carlos Alcaraz looks simply unstoppable, while Elena Rybakina — the 2022 champion — has the draw, the form, and the firepower to reclaim her crown in the women’s competition.

Wimbledon 2025 Outright Predictions

Alcaraz Too Hot to Ignore

Carlos Alcaraz arrives at Wimbledon 2025 with the fire of a champion and the aura of inevitability. His jaw-dropping comeback at Roland Garros — saving three match points against Jannik Sinner before snatching the French Open title in a nerve-shredding super tiebreak — was another reminder of the iron will and rare brilliance that set him apart.

The Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry has come to define men’s tennis in the post-Big Three era, and the numbers speak volumes: six Grand Slam titles shared between them, and Alcaraz prevailing in five of their last six meetings. Now, the Spaniard eyes history — a third consecutive Wimbledon crown — a feat achieved by only four men in the Open era.

The form is blistering. Alcaraz rides an 18-match winning streak into SW19, having captured three consecutive titles, including a flawless warm-up run at Queen’s Club. With just one defeat in his last 26 grass-court matches, the world No. 2 is in relentless form.

Crucially, the draw has dealt him a favourable hand. He avoids Sinner until a potential final and is on the opposite half from seven-time champion Novak Djokovic and British hope Jack Draper. With confidence high and his game tailor-made for grass, Alcaraz (1.90) is the man everyone must chase.

Rybakina Poised for Another Wimbledon Run

The women’s singles field opens with more questions than answers. Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova is nursing an injury, and world No. 3 Aryna Sabalenka, for all her power, remains vulnerable in high-stakes moments. This is a draw built for disruption — and Elena Rybakina may be ready to seize it.

The 2022 champion has quietly been building momentum. A WTA title in Strasbourg in May signalled a resurgence, and under the guidance of coach Davide Sanguinetti, Rybakina has started to look more like her imperious best.

Her route through the draw is enticing. While Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff sit in her quarter, she avoids Sabalenka, Madison Keys and Jasmine Paolini — a significant boost for a player whose power game thrives under pressure.

Gauff (who opens against Dayana Yastremska) has the pedigree and poise, but her grass-court campaign faltered in Berlin with a first-round exit. Swiatek’s recent run in Bad Homburg showed promise, yet her historic struggles on grass still loom large.

By contrast, Rybakina’s Berlin run — a narrow quarter-final loss to Sabalenka, 6-7 6-3 6-7, lit up by 14 aces — demonstrated her sharpness and intent. Her thunderous serve remains one of the most potent weapons on tour.

A finalist in 2024 and a quarter-finalist in 2023, Rybakina (7.00) knows what it takes to go deep at SW19. With form returning and belief growing, she could be writing a final chapter worthy of Centre Court legend.
