Germany vs Ivory Coast Predictions
Open games have followed Germany in 2026
Ivory Coast opened their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over Ecuador in Philadelphia, with Amad Diallo scoring the decisive late goal. That result moved the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations winners closer to a first appearance in the World Cup knockout rounds, and a meeting with Curacao still remains in their group schedule.
Goals at both ends have been a recurring feature around Germany. Julian Nagelsmann’s side beat Curacao 7-1 in Houston, but they still conceded. The same happened in victories over Ghana and the USA, while a 4-3 success against Switzerland opened their 2026 calendar. Germany have now conceded in 11 of their last 16 internationals and have managed only one clean sheet this year.
Yet the Ivory Coast bring attacking evidence of their own. They generated 1.52 xG against an Ecuador defence regarded as one of the strongest at the tournament and have won eight and drawn one of their last 10 internationals. Germany’s 10-match winning streak looks impressive on paper, but defensive questions remain after goals conceded against Switzerland, Ghana, the USA and Curacao.
Germany also closed 2025 with five straight wins after recovering from a 2-0 defeat in Slovakia during qualifying, while narrow tests against Northern Ireland showed they have not always been convincing. With Ivory Coast carrying momentum and Germany regularly allowing chances, a bet on Both Teams To Score appeals at 1.75.

Havertz continues to lead the scoring charge
Kai Havertz is the standout player angle in this contest. The Arsenal forward scored twice against Curacao in Germany’s tournament opener and has now found the net nine times across his last 13 starts for his country.
His recent record stretches beyond international football. Havertz has scored in four of his last five appearances for club and country, including the goal against Burnley that effectively secured the Premier League title for Arsenal and the opening strike in the Champions League final. He also produced a goal and an assist in Germany’s 2-1 victory over the USA before the tournament.
Still, the price remains interesting when set against those numbers. Four goalscoring returns in five matches and nine goals from 13 international starts place him firmly at the centre of Germany’s attacking output, even after a season disrupted by injury.
Those figures are hard to ignore and Kai Havertz to score anytime makes plenty of appeal at 2.05.
