Atletico Madrid face Real Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday, September 20 at 17:15 GMT+3 in a La Liga Madrid derby.
With both clubs losing only once in their last six league matches, another tight contest should keep either side from pulling clear.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Predictions
Neither Madrid side can afford another damaging derby
Atletico Madrid have lost only one of their last six La Liga matches, and Real Madrid have the same record over that spell. The derby also carries extra weight after the effect last season’s meetings had on both clubs.
Each side won at home in La Liga last season. Real took the March meeting 3-2 at the Bernabeu, with Vinicius Junior scoring the winner in the 72nd minute. Los Blancos had just beaten Manchester City in the Champions League, while Atletico had lost to Tottenham but still progressed on aggregate.
Current results leave little between them. Atletico have recorded successive league wins to nil against Real Sociedad and Osasuna, while Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid have won three in a row against Inter Milan, Rayo Vallecano and Elche.
There is also a warning in what followed that 3-2 derby last season. Diego Simeone’s side lost four of their next six and went out of the Copa del Rey on penalties, ending their pursuit of silverware. Real Madrid also faded badly during the closing stretch of the campaign.
With both teams showing similar league resilience and last season’s derby followed by a sharp downturn, I’m backing the draw at 4.00.

Recent derbies keep 1-1 firmly in the picture
Three of the last eight Madrid derbies have finished 1-1, giving the correct-score market a clear recent reference point. Sunday’s meeting also comes with both sides on matching runs of only one La Liga defeat in six.
Atletico’s last two league victories have both come without conceding, against Real Sociedad and Osasuna. Real have answered with three straight wins under Mourinho, beating Inter Milan, Rayo Vallecano and Elche.
The last league derby at the Bernabeu produced five goals, but its aftermath was costly for both clubs. Atletico lost four of their next six and exited the Copa del Rey on penalties, while Real also stumbled during the run-in. A more pragmatic approach from Mourinho would be no surprise in a fixture neither club will want to lose.
Three 1-1 results in the previous eight derbies make that exact score very appealing at 8.00.
